وفي تذكرة الجلال السيوطي النوم في أول النهار عيلولة وهو الفقر وعند الضحى فيلولة وهو الفتور وحين الزوال قيلولة وهي الزيادة في العقل وبعد الزوال حيلولة أي يحيل بينه وبين الصلاة وفي آخر النهار غيلولة أي يورث الهلاك .
Disebutkan dalam kitab tadzkiroh buah karya al-jalal as-suyuthi bahwa:
tidur di permulaan siang (pagi hari) disebut ‘ailulah ialah (menyebabkan) kefakiran(kemelaratan). tidur di waktu dluha disebut failulah, (menyebabkan) kelemahan/lesu pada badan.

ketika tergelincir matahari (zawal) disebut qoilulah, dapat meningkatkan (kecerdasan) akal. tidur seusai zawal disebut chailulah, yakni dapat menghalangi antara orang itu serta sholat.

مطلب : في كراهة النوم بعد الفجر والعصر : ونومك بعد الفجر والعصر أو على قفاك ورفع الرجل فوق أختها امدد ( و ) يكره ( نومك ) أيها المكلف ( بعد ) صلاة ( الفجر ) لأنها ساعة تقسم فيها الأرزاق فلا ينبغي النوم فيها ، فإن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما رأى ابنا له نائما نومة الصبحة فقال له : قم أتنام في الساعة التي تقسم فيها الأرزاق .
وعن بعض التابعين أن الأرض تعج من نوم العالم بعد صلاة الفجر ، وذلك لأنه وقت طلب الرزق والسعي فيه شرعا وعرفا عند العقلاء . وفي الحديث { اللهم بارك لأمتي في بكورها } .
وفي غريب أبي عبيد قال : وفي حديث عمر رضي الله عنه { إياك ونومة الغداة فإنها مبخرة مجفرة مجعرة } قال : ومعنى مبخرة تزيد في البخار وتغلظه . ومجفرة قاطعة للنكاح . ومجعرة ميبسة للطبيعة ” .

Dalaam hadissnya umaar :” beerhati haatilah aanda daari tidurr dii waaktu paagi, seebab bisaa meenyebabkan taak seedikitnya uaap yang meenutupi otaak, meemutuskan peernikahan seerta mengkeeringkan taabi’at.”
قال المناوي : اعلم أن كثرة النوم غير محمودة لكثر مفاسده الأخروية ، بل والدنيوية ، فإنه يورث الغفلة والشبهات وفساد المزاج الطبيعي والنفساني ويكثر البلغم والسوداء ويضعف المعدة وينتن الفم ويولد دون القرح ويضعف البصر والباه حتى لا يكون له داعية للجماع ، ويفسد الماء ويورث الأمراض المزمنة في الولد المتخلق من تلك النطفة حال تكوينه ، ويضعف الجسد .
